+ ISHTA Sweat and Samadhi / 10.30am - 12.30pm, Saturday, 10th February
Samadhi is the state of yoga, or pure consciousness. This state is our true nature and birthright. In this workshop, we will burn out the impurities trapped in the physical body through a strong asana practice, including kriya techniques, led by Sarah Platt-Finger. This powerful session will be followed by a series of yin/restorative postures, which will calm the nervous system and quiet the mind. Alan will close the practice with pranayama techniques and an 18-minute meditation, to facilitate a connection to universal intelligence and unbound potential.
+ ISHTA Mudras, Bhandas, and Kriyas / 2.30pm - 4.30pm, Saturday, 10th February
Mudras, bandhas, and kriyas are Tantric tools that enable the Shakti, or Mother Nature force, to move back to Shiva, All Intelligence. Mudras are hand gestures that link energetic circuits in the body. Bandhas are physical locks that redirect energy in the subtle body. Kriyas move energy from the subtle body back to the causal body, or to essence. Through asana, pranayama, and meditation techniques, Alan and Sarah will explain how to use these tools to purify the consciousness, bringing one back to a state of unbound intelligence, bliss, and wisdom.
+ ISHTA Ayurveda and Asana / 10.30am - 12.30pm, Sunday, 11th February
Developed by Yojirajas Alan Finger and Mona Anand. In the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda, each human being has his or her own unique mixture of the biological forces of life: earth, water, fire, air, and space. This is known as one’s prakriti, or nature. Vrikriti is the condition of these forces as a result of one’s environment and living. When these two states are in conflict, we feel out of balance in ourselves and with the universe. In this workshop, Sarah and Alan will teach you how to create harmony between your prakriti, (or constitution) and your vakriti (or condition) through asana, pranayama and meditation, leaving you in a state of equanimity and love.
+ Mona Anand's ISHTA Yoga Nidra / 2.30pm - 4.30pm, Sunday, 11th February
A nine step approach to Yoga Nidra developed by Yogiraj Mona Anand and Yogiraj Alan Finger. In Sanskrit, nidra means sleep. In yoga nidra we bring ourselves into that state between sleeping and dreaming most often referred to as the hypnagogic state. This condition allows us to tune to brain rhythms that are not normally available in the waking state. In this workshop, Alan will share with you the science behind yoga nidra. Sarah will then guide you through a practical experience of these different brain rhythms in order to deal with the different levels of consciousness in life.

+ The Art of Hands on Adjusting - with Sarah Platt-Finger / 9.30am - 4.00pm, Monday, 12th February
From an energetic perspective, our hands are the transmitters of Shakti, the mother-nature force the governs us. They also relate to the heart and throat chakras, so how we touch relates to both how we feel and how we communicate. In this 2-part workshop, Yogiraj Sarah Finger will review the art of touch and how teachers can help facilitate the experience of yoga through hands on adjustments. Learn how to use the principles of ISHTA yoga to enhance the free flow of breath and life force energy. Some basic and deepening spots will be covered.
9:30am - 11:30am: Theoretical Approach to Hands On Adjustments
This 2-hour session is open to yoga teachers of all levels and will cover the basic concepts of hands-on adjustments. Using the principles of ISHTA yoga, we will look at the intention of spotting from both a physical and energetic perspective, explore the Seven Segments of ISHTA alignment, and discuss the necessary safety precautions when giving hands-on assistance. Learn about the art of touch through a yogic lens!
1.00pm - 4.00pm: Practical Application of Hands-On Adjustments
One of the translations of ISHTA Yoga is "that which resonates with the spirit." Yoga is not a one size fits all practice, and neither is the art of giving hands-on adjustments. In this session, Sarah will cover specific foundational, educational, and deepening spots to help enhance your teaching. Together we will look at different bodies and assess how to determine the appropriate adjustment for the individual - resulting in spaciousness, structure, ease, and the free flow of prana, or life force energy.
