+ What should I expect during a private sound healing session?
Each private session is tailored to support your specific needs and requirements. The treatment involves placing the Ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls on and around the dressed body as they are tapped gently with a felt mallet. The calming and harmonising sounds as well as the gentle vibrations of the singing bowls induce a feeling of well being and a deep relaxation.
A private session also includes warm water therapy.
+ What is warm water therapy?
Warm water therapy involves the singing bowls being filled with warm water which are then placed gently on the body and moved over the body while they are gently sounded for a vibrational massage.
+ What should I wear to a private or group sound healing session?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. It is preferable that there are no buttons on your top and your legs are covered.

+ What style of yoga do you teach?
At Tibetan Sound Healing we integrate ISHTA yoga, Yin Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga and Restorative Yoga in private and group sessions. Combining the serene sounds and therapeutic vibrations of the Tibetan Singing Bowls with these gentle styles of yoga, we are able to deepen and enhance the effects of the yoga asanas. Teaming the modalities is extremely powerful and greatly enhances the body’s own capacity to heal.
ISHTA was founded more than four decades ago and is one of the pre-eminent yoga systems now taught in the West. ISHTA stands for the “Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda” and combines elements of these three ancient eastern disciplines to produce a modern yoga system that trains, instructs, and develops the body, mind, and spirit. The word ISHTA is also derived from the Sanskrit word "ishta," and is interpreted as “that which resonates with the individual spirit,” which is also ISHTA’s mission: to provide a personal yoga system that is neither rigid nor dogmatic, and which allows the individual student, guided by the teacher, to create the practice best suited to his or her physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
YIN YOGA is a very gentle form of yoga where passive floor based asanas are held in a relaxed state for 3 to 5 minutes at a time. This slow paced, gentle form of yoga is deeply nourishing - with passive stresses placed on the deep connective tissues, Yin Yoga mobilises and strengthens our joints, ligaments and deep fascial networks. It is targeted to and deeply nourishes the meridian and organ systems. The experience of Yin Yoga is soothing and calming. It unlocks deeply held tension and cultivates patience and stillness - qualities that help us work towards meditation and deep relaxation.
THERAPEUTIC YOGA is a comprehensive system of restorative yoga, gentle yoga, breath awareness, and guided meditation specifically designed to enhance the body’s own capacity to heal. Using readily available props such as pillows, bolsters, blocks and blankets to gently support the body, the benefits of Therapeutic Yoga are accessible even to those recovering from injury or illness. Breath work, guided meditation and hands-on healing modalities are also part of the system, working to balance the body and ease the mind. It is appropriate for those living with chronic illness or injury, as well as pregnant and aging populations.
