Shift your inner state to one of deep relaxation, peace and equilibrium through sound, vibration, yin yoga asana and meditation.

An accessible series of Yin Yoga asana will be synchronized to the serene sounds and deep therapeutic vibrations of Ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls. Vibrational sound therapy (also known as sound healing) is an extremely powerful and non-intrusive method to release stress and reduce physical pain and tension. The deep vibrations and healing energy of the Ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls will deepen and enhance the effects of the yoga asana. This workshop will conclude with a powerful tantric kriya, a potent meditation technique to help burn out and release any habits, behaviours, beliefs or anything that you are clinging to that you wish to let go of.

If you are new to Yin Yoga, this workshop will provide a wonderful introduction to this nourishing practice. It’s a gentle form of yoga where passive floor based asanas are held in a relaxed state for 3 to 5 minutes at a time. These long holds and slow pace are deeply nourishing- by emphasising passive stress on the deep connective tissues, Yin Yoga is therapeutically used to improve flexibility, and to mobilise and strengthen our joints, ligaments and deep fascial networks. It also enhances the free flow of prana throughout one’s body by directly stimulating the nadis. The experience of Yin Yoga is soothing and calming. It unlocks deeply held physical and emotional tension and cultivates patience and stillness – qualities that help us work towards meditation and deep relaxation.

*No prior yoga experience is required*

** It is essential that you bring a yoga mat and two to three large towels (e.g. beach towel or large bath towels) to this workshop. If you have an eye pillow bring it along, otherwise a small face towel or handkerchief can be used to cover your eyes. You are most welcome to bring your own yoga blocks and bolsters too. Please note: The studio has a very limited number of yoga mats and props. These must be reserved in advance at an additional charge of $6.

*This workshop will be smaller in size than our regular workshops. As space is limited, we highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment on the day*
